a little Voice

a little Voice

by Kyle T. Garrett on July 28, 2010

“(for most of us) At some point in our life, we become aware of the voice in our head. I can’t speak for everyone on this because I’ve obviously only experienced it for myself, AND I would submit we all have very different ways of interpreting and perceiving what it means, where the voice comes from, if it’s real, if it will ever shut up ..haha, and if it’s actually who we are..

When I first started to explore the voice in my own head, I wanted to know what it had to do with the big picture of my life. Honestly, it didn’t really make sense to me because I had just always assumed up until that point, it was me. So when I was introduced to the idea that it wasn’t, I was a bit skeptical to say the least ..haha.

One of the things I started pondering was, “If I can hear the voice, how can I be the voice?

Another thing I started pondering was what a lot of us do all day long, talk to ourselves. And what the conversations are like.. and how my life could look different if those conversations changed?

My goal with making this video was really just to open your mind as well to the idea that you’re not the voice in your head, just because you have one.

Here’s a good question, why would I want that?

Well, it’s been my experience that ever since I personally created a distinction between “me” and “the voice”, it’s empowered me to know the voice isn’t real.

I’ve found, a lot of times in life when we question our potential and what we’re capable of, it’s “the voice” that talks us out of our greatness.

So what do YOU think? How valuable would it be anytime that happens to remind yourself, that’s not “you” talking and developing the skill to silence “the voice” anytime it doesn’t empower you.

Now we’re really just scratching the surface here, but I hope at least this one awareness can serve you in a similar way it’s worked for me.

I’d love to hear any thoughts, comments and questions you have down below!”

Love, Kyle
